3M ESPE Protemp 4 is a high-strength, high-precision composite resin temporization material for dental applications. It offers excellent aesthetics, easy polishability, and simplified handling through its cartridge dispensing system.

Dentist’s operation sequence for 3M ESPE Protemp 4:

Prepare the tooth/teeth as needed
Take an impression or use a pre-existing mold
Load the Protemp 4 cartridge into the dispensing gun
Attach a new mixing tip to the cartridge
Dispense material into the impression or mold
Place the filled impression/mold in the patient’s mouth
Allow to set for about 5 minutes
Remove the temporary restoration from the mouth
Trim excess material and adjust as needed
Polish if desired (often unnecessary due to glossy finish)
Cement the temporary restoration using temporary cement
Check occlusion and make final adjustments
